A thing that makes Mikumi National Park special is that it shares borders with the Udzungwa as well as the Uluguru mountains while at its southern border with is the Nyerere National Park previously called Selous Game Reserve with the annual migration between Mikumi National park and the Nyerere Park seasonally.
Mikumi National Park is known for its diverse population of uncommon wild animals. These include different species of antelope including the rare eland and the unusual Lichtenstein’s hartebeest among others. Other animals that you are likely to spot on a visit to the park include giraffes, buffalos, baboons, elephants and the rather fascinating tree climbing lions.
